AI Agent Process Audit
See what your AI agents actually do on your machines.
A process-level audit of the AI agents and tools running on your team’s Macs: what they start, what they connect to, what access they hold and what they leave behind.
What it is
AI agents and coding assistants do real work on real machines. They run commands, install packages, open connections and inherit the access of the person who started them.
An AI tool’s own logs show what it reports doing. A process-level audit shows what actually happened on the machine, in the same way for every tool you run.
It runs on Mohtaat, our own read-only auditor for macOS, which keeps watching in the background and flags what is new. We turn what it finds into a plan your team can act on.
How it works
01
Processes as they start
New processes are picked up within seconds, each with its real path, command line and signature. A download piped into a shell or an unsigned binary in a temp folder stands out straight away.
02
Connections, by the program that opened them
Each connection is tied to the program behind it, so traffic from an unsigned tool or a hidden folder is flagged. Proxy, DNS and hosts changes that could reroute traffic are checked too.
03
The access they can use
Full Disk Access, Accessibility, Screen Recording and Input Monitoring grants are listed, along with every SSH key that can log in. You see how much an agent could reach, not only what it did.
04
What stays after the session
Launch agents, login items, cron jobs and shell startup files are checked, so anything set to run again after the agent has finished is found. New findings come first, with the highest risk at the top.
05
Read-only, and it stays on the machine
Every check uses fixed read-only commands. Nothing on the machine is changed, and none of your data is sent anywhere, so it can run on the laptops doing your most sensitive work.
Who it’s for
Engineering leaders
Teams whose developers run coding agents on their own laptops.
Security teams
People who need evidence of what AI tools do on company machines.
Companies rolling out AI
Organisations giving agents real access and wanting to know how it is used.
Regulated teams
Businesses that must account for what software touches sensitive work.
Bring this to your organisation
Tell us which AI tools your team runs, and we will scope an audit around them.
The audit covers macOS and works at the process level. It shows what programs did on the machine, not what a model was asked or why, so it sits alongside your AI tool’s own logs. Severity is a guide for a person to review, and a clean result means nothing was flagged, not that a machine is safe. About Mohtaat
